9 months post op

Nothing new to report - having no problems or issues with my shoulder now at all. I can do all normal activities like lifting, stretching, dancing, running etc.

I'm not planning on updating this blog further, unless something changes. If you are reading this because you are about to have or have just had a tenodesis operation then I wish you a quick, successful and full recovery and I hope that you have found this useful. Rosey

8 months post op

I'm at 8 months post op and feeling good! I have full range of motion and full strength back. I can fully reach up my back - there is a slight stretching sensation, but I get the same sensation using my other hand so I reckon that's normal. Sometimes I wake up a little stiff, but a quick stretch quickly resolves it.

My husband dislocated and fractured his shoulder a few weeks ago and is feeling a bit miserable about it. But I can show him how I have recovered fully which give him hope and I can help him with advice and exercises so overall my experience has its uses!

No change from last month except that I can now reach fully up my back. Sometimes my pecs tighten up and need a little stretching, but that's easy enough to do.

6 months post op

Still getting a niggling pain, however I'm not overly concerned as it is only 6 months post op and orthopaedic work can take a long time to fully resolve. The pain mostly comes at the extreme positions, eg whilst swinging my arms backwards in a circle. I can now reach most of the way up my back, but I continue to practice this as there is a little twinge when I do it. I can lift without a problem and do press ups too. So just continueing my stretches and strength work.

No great change to report. Generally no problems with my shoulder. Not fully recovered yet but still improving all the time. It does ache a little sometimes, especially on waking up. I am still doing my 'sleeper' stretches each day, alongside my normal exercise routine. No longer seeing the physio but am still seeing my movement coach but that is really for my general health and not just my shoulder.
